Google Sells SEM Division to Publicis

As noted earlier this year in AdViking, the news that Google have sole their search engine marketing division (formerly called Performics and Dart Search) is not a surprise, but is another savvy move by Google. Publicis Groupe will acquire business in a deal expected to close in Q3, not a lot of other details were available. This is a good move as it helps keep Google nuetral in the SEM space and avoid conflicts of interest in this space.

Not a surprise that this went to Publicis

In light of the special relationship (http://bit.ly/3TQKCq) between Publicis and Google not really a surpirse of the buyer here…though I do wonder if WPP was in the bidding?
